作品には、それぞれ物語があります。

この馬の絵は、私にとって忘れることのできない一枚です。

これは、私が初めて挑戦した木炭画です。

もともとの参考写真はカラー写真でしたが、色ではなく、木炭ならではの光と影、そして静かな力強さで表現したいと思い、新しい挑戦をしました。

この作品を描いたのは、病気の治療を受けていた頃です。

体調の良い日だけ、少しずつ机に向かい、一筆ずつ描き進めました。

絵を描く時間は、何も考えずに自分と向き合える、大切な時間でした。

完成したこの作品は、私の中で「諦めなかった証」のような存在です。

そして後に、この原画は「文化協会長賞」を受賞しました。

賞をいただけたことはもちろん嬉しかったですが、それ以上に、この作品を見るたび、あの頃の自分の努力や希望を思い出します。

この作品が、どこかで誰かの心に寄り添える一枚になれば嬉しいです。

My First Charcoal Drawing

Every artwork tells a story.

This horse is one of the most meaningful pieces I have ever created.

It was my very first charcoal drawing. Although the original reference was a color photograph, I wanted to reinterpret it in charcoal, allowing light, shadow, and texture to tell the story instead of color.

I created this artwork while I was receiving treatment for an illness. On the days when I had enough strength, I would sit down and draw a little at a time. Creating became a quiet place where I could focus on something beautiful and simply enjoy the process.

When I look at this drawing today, I don't just see a horse. I see resilience, patience, and the reminder that even small steps can become something meaningful.

Months later, the original artwork received the Cultural Association President's Award at the 44th Obama City Art Exhibition in Japan.

The award means a great deal to me, but what I treasure most is the journey behind this piece. It reminds me that creativity can continue to grow, even during life's most difficult seasons.

Today, this artwork is available as a limited edition giclée art print, carefully reproduced to preserve every detail of the original charcoal drawing.
