この作品のモデルになったのは、ポリーという保護猫です。
ポリーは、私たちが保護した中でも特に重い病気を抱えていた子でした。とても弱く、90日間にわたる治療を受け、毎日の注射にも懸命に耐え抜きました。
この作品は、その長い治療を終えた直後の姿を描いたものです。制作を進める中で、ポリーの表情には誇りと無垢さ、そして穏やかな満足感が宿っているように感じました。まるで長い闘いを乗り越え、静かな幸せを見つけたかのようでした。
小さな命であっても、困難を乗り越える強さがあります。この作品が、希望や癒やし、そして生きる力を感じていただける一枚になれば幸いです。

Artwork Story
The inspiration for this piece is Polly, a rescued kitten.
Polly was one of the sickest cats we had ever rescued. She was incredibly weak and endured **90 days of treatment, receiving daily injections as she fought for her life.
This portrait captures Polly shortly after completing her treatment. As I worked on this piece, I couldn't help but notice the quiet transformation in her expression. Her face seemed to radiate pride, innocence, and a peaceful sense of contentment—as if she had finally overcome her long battle and was quietly embracing a new beginning.
No matter how small a life may be, it possesses an incredible strength to overcome adversity. My hope is that this artwork brings a sense of hope, healing, and resilience to everyone who views it.
